History

Akdeniz University Institute of Health Sciences was established on November 8, 1982, under the Rectorate, in accordance with Law No. 2547, with the aim of providing master's and doctoral education in fields related to medicine and health sciences. On January 25, 1983, the first Institute Director was appointed, the Institution Board of Directors and the Institution Board were established, and our institution completed its organization.

During the establishment of our institution, it started education and training with six doctoral students taken over from Ankara University and continued its education by taking its first students in the 1984-1985 academic year.

Our Institution provides postgraduate education opportunities to students who have graduated from our country's universities in the field of health sciences and trains the faculty members of the future.
